OFFICE CARE
At Chiropractic Care, we understand that each patient is different, and each condition is unique. That is why each patient is thoroughly assessed in order to determine an accurate diagnosis and tailor the best course of treatment around each individual’s case. Patient’s progress is monitored on a day-to-day basis, and treatment is scheduled around how the patient is responding. Compliance with all aspects of care, including a uniquely designed home care rehab program, will be required as part of the overall plan to establish successful recovery and improve quality of life for each patient. Our physicians will take the necessary time to educate you regarding your condition and treatment plan. As a patient of Chiropractic Care, our physicians have direct access to the Beacon facility clinicians, therapists and other ancillary care that may be called upon. Contact the office near you for questions or scheduling.
CHIROPRACTIC CARE
A chiropractor is a doctor that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders, especially those related to the spine. The spine is vulnerable to restricted joint function in the small joints (facet joints) of the back, which can lead to pain and discomfort in the soft tissue near the affected joint. This can be the result of everyday activities, sports, injuries, or accidents. A chiropractor’s treatment centers around spinal manipulation, or adjustment, to correct the restricted joint function allowing for pain relief and improved flexibility. Additional therapy is often used to relieve pain and discomfort, including Active Release Technique (ART), electrotherapy, heat, and ice.
TITLEIST PERFORMANCE INSTITUTE
TPI is the world’s leading educational organization dedicated to the study of how the human body functions in relation to the golf swing.
Since its inception in 2003, TPI has studied thousands of golfers ranging from the top professional Tour players to weekend enthusiasts. An incredible amount of data on players of all shapes, sizes, ages, and fitness levels has been gathered during this time. Using this data, TPI discovered how a properly functioning body allows a player to swing a golf club in the most efficient way possible. Additionally, TPI has analyzed how physical limitations in a player’s body can adversely affect the golf swing and potentially lead to injury.
ACTIVE RELEASE TECHNIQUE (ART)
ART is a soft tissue system/movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves. These structures are consistently strained due to overuse. Overuse causes tears, pulling, sprains and decreased oxygen to the muscles. Each one of these factors can cause your body to produce scar tissue buildup which shortens and weakens the muscle by increasing tension. This process causes tendinitis, nerve entrapment, reduced range of motion, loss of strength and pain. ART can relieve symptoms by reversing this process. This is done by isolating involved muscles and the components of its contraction. The four tissue components that ART addresses are muscle, ligament, nerve and fascia. Each of these can be isolated and treated by taking them through their own specific motions, which has the potential to change the dynamics of the tissue that is being treated.
DRY NEEDLING
Trigger point dry needling uses a solid filament needle which is directly inserted through the skin and into the muscle to release the painful trigger point. The insertion of the needle allows us to penetrate the deeper layers of muscle and other soft tissue, which are typically impossible to get to with the use of manual pressure or other forms of surface therapy. The insertion into a trigger point will decrease muscle contraction, improve flexibility, and decrease pain. It is called “Dry” Needling because there is no solution/fluid injected as with a typical vaccine shot, or other form of injection. With Dry Needling, the needle itself can be utilized as the treatment or, if needed, it may be used in combination with the use of a TENs unit for deeper therapeutic benefit. Trigger Point Dry Needling is not considered Acupuncture. Although, they use the same needles, the application and technique of where needles are placed and their approach to how to treat the same conditions can differ. Trigger Point Dry Needling is based on Western medicine principles and research while Acupuncture is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine.
FUNCTIONAL REHABILITATION
Most injuries or pain involves weakness or damage to the soft tissue which is made up of muscles, tendons, ligaments, or fascia. Due to this it is necessary to not only treat the pain but to also address the deficiencies that may have caused the pain in the first place. Our physician’s accomplish this by tailoring a specific home exercise program to meet the needs of the individual and their unique condition. We expect patients to take an active role in their care by participating in this program so that maximum recovery can be achieved while also decreasing the risk of future episodes of pain.
IMAGING
With Chiropractic Care located in the Beacon Orthopedics & Sports Medicine complex, patients have access to a multitude of health care needs. Priority scheduling with Medical doctors, physical therapy, MRI, and X-rays are all available if the patient requires these services.
reformer pilates
Reformer Pilates training is a form of exercise that utilizes a specially designed apparatus called a reformer. This apparatus consists of a sliding carriage, springs, straps, and pulleys, providing resistance for a full-body workout. During a Reformer Pilates session, individuals perform a series of controlled movements targeting specific muscle groups while maintaining proper alignment and breathing techniques. The resistance provided by the springs challenges the muscles, helping to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. Reformer Pilates is suitable for individuals of all fitness levels, as exercises can be modified to accommodate different needs and abilities. With consistent practice, participants can experience increased muscle tone, enhanced posture, and overall physical well-being.
SHOCKWAVE THERAPY
Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive medical treatment that utilizes acoustic waves to stimulate healing in injured tissues and alleviate pain. During a shockwave therapy session, a device delivers high-energy acoustic waves to the affected area, typically targeting musculoskeletal issues such as tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, or chronic pain conditions. These acoustic waves stimulate the body’s natural healing response by increasing blood flow, promoting tissue regeneration, and reducing inflammation. Shockwave therapy is often used as a conservative treatment option for individuals seeking pain relief and improved mobility without surgery or medication. It is typically administered in a series of sessions over several weeks, with many patients experiencing noticeable improvements in their symptoms after just a few treatments.
